Our Performing Arts Academy’s summer camp is the perfect mix of fun, friendship, and theatre education with a performance at the end of the week!

Each day of camp will be filled with fun, reviewing material for the final performance. Students will gain experience in acting, singing, and dance through rehearsals and scene work. Camp is a great time to get to know other students in the area with similar interests.

Camp Monday – Thursday will be held at The Snug Theatre (160 S. Water Street, Marine City, MI 48039), Friday and Saturday will be at The Boardwalk Theatre in Saint Clair (109 S. 3rd St. Saint Clair, MI 48079).

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges pins a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Told entirely through song with the help of a main character Narrator, the musical follows preferred son Joseph. After being sold into slavery by his brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the amorous advances of Potiphar’s wife. While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled, Elvis-inspired, Pharaoh. Joseph’s solution to Egypt’s famine elevates him to Pharaoh’s right-hand man and reunites him with his family.

The magical musical is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from a parody of French ballads (“Those Canaan Days”), to country-western (“One More Angel in Heaven”) and calypso (“Benjamin Calypso”), along with the unforgettable classics “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.” Appropriate for all audiences and groups, Joseph is a favorite worldwide.
